Wednesday, September 16th - Pineda de Mar
I was up early and down to the beach to catch the boat to Tossa de Mar by 9 a.m. I sat waiting for a while and then heard someone else talking about how disappointed they were. Since they were speaking English I asked why they weren't going and they said because the sailing was cancelled. Darn! Apparently there was a storm coming in with high winds and they could not sail.
I took a different route back to the hotel but didn't find anything exciting. I did decide that a storm would be nice because even before 10 a.m. it was really humid and I was soaking wet by the time I got back. I worked on some blogs in my air-conditioned room until about noon and then decided i should go out for a while. I changed into my bathing suit and went to the pool knowing that I could get to cover easily if needed should a storm really materialize. From the pool deck I could see that there wasn't a dangerous cloud in the sky so I'm not sue what storm they were worried about. It was rather windy though so the seas might have been rough. Being one who gets sea sick easily, I guess I shouldn't complain that they didn't go out if it was rough.
I read at poolside until I got hungry then I went across the street for a sandwich. I returned and went back out to the pool to read some more and spent the rest of the afternoon there. I went down to my room eventually, did some more work re Ethiopia, then went across the plaza for dinner. After that I came back and did some more blogging. Isn't that an exciting day?
