Happy New Year!
The greeting is a bit late but as usual I've been busy with my travels. And this is just going to be a quick note to tell you all is well over here. I am back in La Spezia again for a few days. The last cruise finished yesterday and I don't have to be in Cairo until the 11th or 12th so I'm relaxing and enjoying the northern Italian riviera again.
What a way to end one year and start another. I was in Katakolon and Piraeus on the 30th and 31st and Rhodos, Limassol and Alexandria on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Those names may not all be familiar to you but it means I was in Greece at Olympia and at the Acropolis in Athens as the year ended, and in Rhodes, Cyprus and Egypt as the year began. That's pretty amazing I think!
Cruising over the holidays was a great idea and even I managed to stay up to see the new year in even though I had a 7:30 tour the following morning. Let me assure you that a fun time was had by all on the Costa Concordia and no one had to worry about driving home. It really was fun and quite low key actually.
I'm hoping it is sunny tomorrow so I can finally make it to Porto Venere. However, if it's rainy perhaps I'll be able to get more writing done and finalize some more travel arrangements.
I hope you all had a great holiday season and I really do wish you all the best in 2007. Cheers!
